Laure hails from the Northern Region of Tana's Empire, the Duchy of Freed where no great city stands against the scream of the frozen winds and the unyielding cold of the tundra. The only child of Varian Reiter, Duke of the Duchy of Freed, Laure was gifted with an ancestral connection to the white frost magic. Everyone assumed that Laure would follow her father as the duchy's next leader. However, this was never a glory Laure desired. The grim responsibility of her extraordinary gifts instead left Laure feeling isolated, burdened, and alone. But when her father disappeared, abducted by extremists after the death of Laure's mother, Tiffin Wyrm, during a riot, Laure was named duchess of freed, but flee from her responsibilities. Pursued by the traitors, Laure awakened more of her power and used them to avenge her father's supposed death. Whether it was out of duty or loneliness, Laure gained a reputation by protecting the people of the north she was encountering. And soon, people gathered around her, bringing her back to the role she was running from. Becoming a beacon of hope for her people, and slowly taking in the responsibilities of her role. Later, when her father came back, she finally was free from her responsibilities but had grown to not fear them, but embrace them in the future.Family tree
