Description

Courtyard

The central courtyard is dominated by a statue of the first Arch-Mage of the College, Darvik Vilgefortz, who is also the founder of the Academy of magic as a whole; this is the hub of the facility, offering access back out and into the three Halls. The exterior windows offer exceptional views of Holypertuis's busy street.   Within the courtyard, apprentice wizards arranged four stone pillars, each crowned with a floating magical orb, to enable the playing of Rafinuka, a popular magical sport. This setup accommodates up to four students who can engage in thrilling duels, often dividing into two separate matches. Some more advanced students have even ventured to experiment with variants of the game that involve four participants, creating additional excitement and challenges.

Halls

The courtyard branches off to the three halls of the school. The Hall of Attainment, the living quarters for mage apprentices, is off to the left upon entering the school, while the Hall of Countenance, the living quarters for more advanced mages, is off to the right. Straight ahead lies the Hall of the Elements, the lecture hall of the school.   From the Hall of the Elements, the Arch-Mage's Quarters branches off on the left.

The Midden

The Midden, a hidden prison or storage area beneath the school, houses various chamber of experimentations, relic of Darvik's experience while he was head of this school. Nowadays, monsters inhabit the halls of The Midden. A tunnel here leads to the outside just outside of Holypertuis.

The Archmage's Quarters

The Archmage's Quarters are situated at the pinnacle of the Academy, and this splendid chamber also functions as an observatory for crafting star charts.

History

Founded in 613 AD by Darvik Vilgefortz, the Enchantement school was the first magic school to be part of the Academy of magic. Focusing on the art of enchanting, and manipulating through and emotion, the school became incredibly popular among nobles and mages, and its teaching spread quickly to those interested in this field of magic.
