David Lionheart
David Lionheart was the King of Alterin, and a former noble of the Orrin Empire. He is a large bearish man, a brawny warrior with thick features, a heavy beard, and black and gray armor. David has also been noted for being stubborn, proud, strong-willed, cunning, and arrogant.

Early life
David Lionheart is the son of Archibald Lionheart, the nobleman responsible for the industrialisation of the Orrin empire. From a young age, David was taught by his father not to rely on others and that asking for help was a weakness, and this characteristic stuck with him throughout his life. After Archibald's death, David took the leadership of the noble house and led the Lionheart much like his father had. At some point, Greymane met his wife, Mia, at the Empire Banquet, and theirs was not an arranged marriage. They had two children: Richard, his son and heir, and Tess, who would have died in infancy if not for the intervention of the Royal Cleric. David was gruff with his children, and rarely told them he loved them. As an important nobleman, David Lionheart was often in close proximity of Arthas Medicis, the emperor. After the Orc War, David listened to the plight of the emperor about unity, and the cursed land of the orcs that was not to be conquered, David complained about the lack of pride of the empire. David had his eye on this land to be taken, even though he had no right to it. David almost fought with Khagar over the issue, but the confrontation never came as both of them had reluctantly agreed not to bring back any weapons or arcane focus. Over time, he grew to support the idea he should rule and lead the empire to a new age of glory. Greymane chafed at having Orrin taxes pay for orc internment camps. In a discussion with his wife, David questioned the wisdom of listening to the emperor. David stated his plans to assassinate the emperor and take over the position of leader. A plan he executed soon after. The emperor's death led to the departure of David and its military from the Empire and the beginnings of their campaign east. However, Khadgar quickly took over the position of emperor. In an act of defiance against David after hearing he was the master of the former emperor's assassination, Khagar declared war on his newly formed kingdom, the Kingdom of Alterin. The resulting war, the Conqueror's War, weakened both the kingdom and empire and split the populace into two groups, "royalist" and "Imperialist", labels that continued to spark fights years after the event ended.
