Treaty of Üniyodh

Regardless of all other stated reasons and justifications for this conflict, I see it as self-evident that the true objective was control of the River. With this Treaty, control of the River shall no longer be a problem, allowing us the opportunity to begin the painful process of healing and restoring peace. We have much to answer for.
Diarch Dhözii I of Ozäxa-Lavüdh
The signing of the Treaty of Üniyodh was the act that finally ended the long Central War, shaping politics in central and southern Thurásin for centuries to come.

Backstory

The Central War's beginnings are themselves in conflict, as what event acted as its nucleus depends on who you ask. The official declaration of war came in 28 Plenty, with the Diarchy of Ozäxa-Lavüdh invading the Kingdom of Zdärrözadh. Despite Ozäxa-Lavüdh's claims that they were simply acting to ensure the lawful continuation of the kingdom, many saw it as a blatant effort to expand their territory, and the localised conflict grew steadily larger over the decades.   Ozäxa-Lavüdh's strategy shifted later in the war after diarch Dhözii I, in whose name the war had ostensibly been executed, came to have more control over foreign affairs. She pushed heavily for the war to end, arranging meetings with all the relevant parties and going out of her way to convince them of her sincerity on the issue. In 45 War, drafts of a treaty began to circulate, largely written in her hand.

Treaty

Most of the Treaty of Üniyodh was straightforward. After reaffirming the independence of a few states who had declared neutrality during the war, such as the Duchy of Ovük and the City of Astäfülo, the treaty defines the new borders of southern Thurásin. This largely entailed dissolving the Kingdom of Zdärrözadh and replacing it with two new countries, the Republic of Glinzüchöl and the Kingdom of Sambogen.   The most consequential clause of the Treaty of Üniyodh was the one regarding the River Tsädh. Recognising that control of that river had motivated much of the conflict, the treaty designated it to be a condominium. This meant that all laws regarding the lake had to be decided by all relevant parties, and that the river itself belonged to no single entity.

Succession

The war stemmed from a disaster which had killed most of the Zdärrözadhayo royal family, making Princess Dhözii the heir to both Zdärrözadh and Ozäxa-Lavüdh. While initially assumed she would take the throne of Zdärrözadh, the premature death of her father catapulted her to the diarchy first.   This caused Dhözii's cousin, Xauvis, to assume the throne would now fall to him. Dhözii's co-diarch disagreed, and the war evolved from this.
