    Titans Forge the World
    Celestial / Cosmic

The Titans, ancient gods and pantheon of the giants, are said to have forged the world, binding elemental creatures of the far realms known as the Primordials to create the planes, then weaving these elements together to create Tier'akan and it's adjacent existences.   Many scholars dispute this fact, but the giants remain steadfast in their certainty that this world was created for them to rule, and its citizens created to serve them.

    The Forgotten Villages
    Founding

Several of the Pantheon of gods see their people suffering under draconian regimes, and in response to the prayers of their followers, lay a blessing upon a number of still untouched villages and cities. So long as they go without seeking trouble, trouble will not find them. The resulting people form an insular, gentle community, that frowns heavily on those who buck tradition or seek excitement. With time, this isolation allows them to become the halfling race.

    The Draconic Conquest
    Military action

Though human nations have survived free of the Draconic cities, as they grow powerful enough to resent the ongoing threat of draconic raids, they attempt to strike at them in their lairs. The attempt leads to mixed success. Some dragons are driven off- or even killed- but the survivors take retribution upon the nations, personally taking the field to crush them, raze their most powerful cities, and conquer what remains. Across the world, this pattern repeats, with only a few coshing to submit willingly to draconic rule.

    The Draconic Declaration
    Military action

By now, dragons have ruled the world of men unchallenged for a considerable length of time. Though infighting has culled the numbers considerably, there exist many Ancient Dragons among their numbers, powerful enough to doubt that anything could be a threat. And yet... they know that their nations only exist due to the indifference of the thriving giant empire, and they covet the wealth they control. Thus, many dragons turn their greed upon the Titanspawn, and begin to pick fights, to raid, and when confronted- declare war.   This was not, admittedly, the wisest decision they could have made, for the united empire of the giants declares war in return- on the entire species of dragonkind.

A ritual is enacted, to grant them the boons of the sea, and from the moment they touch water they are transformed into the Mercreatures known today.

    The Founding of the Forgelands
    Founding

When the world pillar was damaged, one large swathe of land became heavily infused with the essence of fire, granting the stone there many useful attributes. Those who believed that true Gianthood was based on skill with crafting quickly realized the potential of this location, and set up their forges and mines in the rockier areas. Finding that the area was already inhabited with humans was just a bonus- slaves would make it far easier to get the raw materials they needed and focus on their work.
