Vidath

A race of biomechanical species of alien spacefaring creatures. Their final goal is to reach the Pyre of Stars so that they can obtain Archaeotech to use. As the Pyre is already owned by the United nations of Tebburus, the Hyperion Federation is at war with them.
The Vidath come in many different forms each corresponding to various different roles. These can range from frigates to carriers to even forms as large as star annihilators, as well as forms intended for planetary or coridoor battle, as well as aircraft carrier forms and more. The Vidath will attack any species that blocks them from reaching the Pyre, but often times the HF military can influence them to attack other factions such as the HEX Mainframe, Cypher Dominion and Xalarin Council. 
Arguably their scariest form if the dissection form, which will approach any sentient organism that is not Vidath, attach itself to them and cut them into pieces while still alive for consumption by other Vidath forms later. This form is very small and well suited to starship and station interior fights. Normally, HF ships are fully enclosed and have no enterances, but the Vidath have forms that deploy Dissection forms into a target ship. This requires them to pierce the armour with a drill-like tendril before sending them through the tendril into the ship through the bored-out hole. These deployment forms have a organ dadicated to creating and storing dissection forms. Because the Vidath are partly biological, they are also highly adaptive. They have been seen acting outside of protocol, and they are not hive-minded, potentially leading to internal conflict.

Genetics and Reproduction

They reproduce by asexually laying large eggs of varying sizes. As they grow, they can modify their own body and chose a form to take up. This can lead to a highly versatile force that rivals the HF, however, compared to other crisis factions like the accuilax they also have a slower reproduction rate due to the partly mechanical nature and sheer energy requirement which is highly intensive on a vidath, almost regardless of form. Also not all forms are capable of reproduction.

Perception and Sensory Capabilities

Visual (eyes), radar They also get a unique form of superluminal sensory called Entanglement Decoherence Detectors (EDD), which involves an entangled quantum particle pair. One is sent out in a beam similar to how radar works. However, it does not reflect back. Instead, the interaction with enemy armour causes decoherence, and both particles are instantly untangled. This is detected by the machine and can obtain information on the targets position.
