Psi Kaus II
An extremely hot lava planet of the Psi Kaus System, which is owned by the HF.
The planet is so how that more than half of the surface is lava. A number of features have formed however including continents and whirlpools. These are useful for predicting lava flow and building continents.
The atmosphere is too hot for both the Xalarin and Zatenheim to inhabit so all species would need to wear a form of advanced PPE which can withstand the immense pressure and temperature.
The planet is primarily used for mining. The continents float on the liquid mantle, making it nearly impossible to perform fire extraction. One would need to construct a vehicle that can dive extremely deep through the mantle. However conventional mining can take place on the continents and the lava can be extracted and filtered for valuable metals. Most of its materials are gained through lava filtration, which is mostly performed on large buoyant rigs that collect lava and convert all usable matter into matter plasma. This is then Teleported to any orbiting starships and space stations to use and mix with other matters plasma to enrich it with the metals mined here.
Oddly, the parent star emits little visible light so the planet is quite dark even at day. The HF has to equip anyone visiting the planet with lights allowing them to see. The planet receives most of its energy through UV radiation so any species that can see high frequency light would be able to see normally, however the glare would be so extreme that it would probably destroy their eyes.
