Biham II

A planet in the Biham System.   Biham II is a hot planet, though not extremely hot. It is almost entirely barren on the surface and features many large mountains and a very strong magnetic field. This results in strange rock formations at times as the rock composition is iron rich. This includes very strange formations that look influenced by alien civilizations.   However, it is constantly mined despite the magnetic field and dangers associated with the magnetic ground. The rich iron content of the rock makes the world highly valuable, along with its strategic location of being near the center of the system.   This world, like many others, has multiple space elevators. These are used to easily move mined material to space and to resupply the mines. The space elevators are well defended with defence platforms occupying many orbits around the planet and the space elevators themselves are armed as well.   Although there are continued efforts to extract valuable ore from Biham II, the planet has a relatively low population to keep them safe from the extreme conditions. The planet is mostly extracted using autonomous or remote controlled robots, which presents a new logistical challenge, but robots also dont require food. Many charging poits are available on Biham II, and a lot of the extracoted ore is then processed on world due to the ease of heating up metal when the rest of the environment is so hot. The planet is powered through several sources, such as geothermally and through fusion reactors similar to other CD worlds. There are also wormholes linking it to other CD planets.
