Air Suon

A special gene of Suons. Air Suons are capable of flight without use of technology. This gene was cooperatively engineered by several nations (Ooblar, jeskuar, Tetron) to make flight to floating islands substantially easier.   Air suons are perhaps the easiest to distinguish from regular suons. They have large wings to help with flight and keep stable. However, the lift is actually produced by the kaidaton content of their bodies, which is more significant than in regular suons. The Taidakic Force reduces the weight of the suon considerably when desired and allows flight.
As such, air suons can only fly on planets with a taidakic field - such as Tebburus or Mauray.   Air suons generate kaidatons that can be stored in a number of glands through their body, which contain Aetherium crystals. While charged with kaidatons, the aetherium crystals can generate a large amount of lift. These are called flight glands and are located in many areas of the body to provide a relatively consistent lift across the whole body. Each flight gland comes in 2 parts:- The aetherium crystal, which stores kaidatons. The body can discharge the crystals, causing it to lose kaidatons very quickly and allowing for altitude drops. There is a limit to how many kaidatons are in an aetherium crystal though, causing an altitude limit for air suons. If this was not a restriction, they would be able to fly into the very high atmosphere and die from lack of air.- The kaidaton reactor, which can store a large amount of energy to create kaidatons very quickly and send them to the aetherium crystal. This allows for altitide raises but is quite energy intensive on the body which can cause exhaustion.   This causes the suon to require a small diet of aetherium crystal, so there are operations to harvest a measure of aetherium and turn it into a powder-like material in food. Air suons have also gained the ability to digest aetherium crystals, unlike other suons. Aetherium can sore a density of kaidatons that is much higher than any biological matter.

Basic Information

Biological Traits

Flight requires a lot of energy. As such, air suons often have a faster metabolism. This makes them digest food faster and gives them more energy. Their wings are attached next to the rear of their shoulders. The wingspan extends to about 3 m and can compactly fold up when not in use.
