Bulrin

Native to Iphelon, Bulrin are terrifying humanoids with a massive stature. Grotesque by the standards of Man, each Bulrin possesses tusks and a thick mane of hair.   Although Bulrin have a variety of possible appearances, they tend to blend into their environment; their bodies are slow and unwieldy, so they tend to live as ambush hunters if not integrated into society with other races, where they will take up cultivation or become artisans. Despite their size, they are not clumsy, though they find it hard to use some of the things created for mortals of a more standard size.   Bulrin society is heavily dominated by the elders; the lifespan of a Bulrin is not currently known for certain–the actual lifespan of an individual seems to be dependent on their social situation, with the oldest Bulrin in a group living much longer than other Bulrin. As a result, these elders seem to be drawn to things.   Most Bulrin cannot use magic in the traditional sense, though some become artificers by careful practice and study. There are Bulrin sorcerers and occultists, but they tend to be relegated to history books and local legends.   While Bulrin can be found all across Iphelon, they congregate in the more comfortable habitats of The Southreach, where they can survive most of the year without shelter or other comforts.

Talents

Bulrin gain access to special talents. These must be bought (and are not mandatory for a Bulrin character).

All-Weather (1)

Bulrin do not seem to mind inclement weather, and some of them are so good at working in rough conditions that they ignore any penalty they would normally suffer from the weather.

Keeper of Ways (1)

Although the Bulrin are not typically magical, you are one of the lucky few to have become an artificer, and have risen to a position of respect in your community. You should have at least one IAAT relating to magic if you take this ability.   When dealing with Bulrin, you gain a +10 bonus to convince them to do what you want. You also gain a +5 bonus to maintaining Gear and identifying the sources of magical effects.

Massive (1)

Bulrin suffer a -5 penalty to Grace and gain a +5 bonus to Brawn. They cause 1 more damage with any melee weapon.
