Magic: Sorcery

Magicians across Halor usually belong to one of three magical schools: Artifice, Sorcery, or the occult arts.   Sorcery is intuitive and frantic. Where artifice and the occult often try to set some rules of order to the universe, sorcerers draw their magic from their own sheer force of will.   This makes them dangerous, and the Halori Empire forbids all but the most capable sorcerers from using any significant magic in public, or on sentient creatures.   Sanctioned sorcerers are powerful and considered untrustworthy by some, while being revered almost as New Gods by many. Because they are not limited to the arcana of the artificers or the blasphemous contracts of the occultists, sorcerers can be versatile and quick on their feet, but they can also cause great harm by using untested and unfamiliar powers.
