The R&B enter Southton

Population Migration / Travel

The heroes arrive in the City-State of Southton, in search of Grindstaff's next Laboratory. Instead, they find a mysterious, but dashing, Ork named Axton who leads them towards Demonhead Island, a pleasure resort that Grindstaff seems to have frequented.

The heroes arrive and dock in the City-State of Southton. Zephir assures them that the Darkwynd and the crew will keep a low profile, allowing the adventurers to explore the city. Blix, with his Disguise kit and formidable make-up skills, alters his companions appearance, in the case that the Crimson Guard are on the lookout for the Champions of Terra.   With the vague information that there is a Laboratory somewhere in the large city of Southton, the heroes begin to canvas the area, using magic and subtle interrogations of the local populace to find anything unusual. The party does some shopping, most notably Beatrix, Cleric of Sol, who purchases a Scrying Focus: an ornate, golden sundial with orrery-like attachments. After the party magically searched the Crimson Keep for any hints of Necrotech, and finding none, Zula meets a fellow 'Half-Orc' who seems shocked to see her in the city.   Reluctantly accepting an invitation to have dinner with Axton Therok at the posh restaurant 'The Chandelier', Zula purchases some new clothes as the party plans their next move. At dinner, it turns out that Axton is not a half-orc, but, like Zula, is a Noble Orc from some mysterious 'Empire' to the East. Not only that, he is some sort of agent tasked with protecting and 'elevating' the city of Southton, who has caught wind of a mad necromancer that could be a threat. He has spent the last several weeks investigating Grindstaff The Gaunt, and concluded that whatever Grindstaff is doing is not within the city walls, but on nearby Demonhead Island, which is used as a discrete 'pleasure resort' by the elites and aristocracy of Southton.   The secretive 'party boat' that shuttles people to and from Demonhead Island is due to arrive in a day and a half, and Axton has two tickets. The Red & Black devise a plan for them to ALL be aboard this ship when it leaves.
