Rose Brummel

Background

Appearance

Rose Mary Brummel is a naturally pretty ten-year-old girl, with dark wavy hair, that her mother spends hours ironing into ringlets. She has glittering blue eyes and has a pale complexion, with cheeks that are often pinched to a more attractive red.   Her mother likes to dress her in puffy dresses which are slightly younger than are usually worn at her age and are sometimes restrictive to walk in. All of her outfits have rosebuds embroidered in prominent positions.

How She Sees Herself

Rose understands that the value she brings to the world is her beauty and sweetness. If that wasn't the most important thing, her mother wouldn't spend so long making sure she looked perfect. She knows she has no practical skills but doesn't worry about that. She has a lot of older brothers and sisters who will no doubt look after her.   She is the daughter of the Town Crier, one of the Men of Authority, and is therefore among the highest ranking families, and has an ego which exceeds her social status. She has very little concept of money and can be greedy and selfish.
"My curls would look so perfect in those ribbons, would you not agree? "

Family

Rose is the youngest of the five children of Mr Stuart Laurence Brummel and Mrs Louise Edith Brummel and lives with all but her eldest sister in Brummel House. As the home of a Man of Authority, the house is situated in The Right Hand, the most exclusive district in Cressund Town safe from the terrors which live beyond the Town Walls.   Her eldest sister is Ivy Brummel, who is 15 years older than her, followed in age by Clarence Brummel, Daisy Brummel, Alexander Brummel and finally Edward Brummel who is only two years older than her. If asked, her siblings would agree that she is their mother's favourite child.

I hope she doesn't lose her naive and happy view of life.

So cute. Luckily she seems to enjoy her mother’s torture. For me, it would have been torture :)
