Michael's mother contracted a mysterious disease at 7 years old, and died when he was 10. Left with his father, a wizard who obsessed with trying to restore the mother. Michael often left to forage to feed himself. Father is name unknown.
He ran away when he was 11 years old. He was found by a high level druid, named Kenarlith, who adopted him. They lived deep in a forest, at least 100 miles from civilisation. Kenarlith vanished on Michael's 20th birthday, and he spent 10 years waiting for his return. Michael's only companion in this time is Bage the Bobcat. He used this time to seek a cure for his mother's disease. He will continue to seek this going forward.
After waiting until his 30th birthday, Michael left a letter for Kenarlith explaining that he is looking for him. "I am looking for you, if I am not back in a year I am probably dead." Michael walked for days throught he woods, seemingly lost. After a week he's picked up by Nystul, an ancient wizard, and delivered to the adventuring party.
Kenarlith: Specialised in modifying plants to create guardians for the forest. Long messy grey hair, "human" with elvish features. Likely a half elf, but with human style ears. One green eye, one blue. 5'6" tall. Long shaggy beard. Slender but well built. "Really old"
Bage the Bobcat: Yellow/Orange bobcat. Unfriendly disposition. "Bit of an asshole" Usually well behaved, sometimes growls and bites. Scrappy. Hates other animals that attack Michael and the party against reasonable threats (up to about a wolf in size). Sometimes playful, will chase insects. Food motivated. Occassionally disobedient.
