Captain Hræfn Eberhard (a.k.a. Raven)
Raven is someone I met in the midst of a chaotic time in my life, both in the Waking World and the Dream World. She was born the sole heir to one of the more prestigious families in the Raca System, the girl had a lot to live up to. Initially, she was destined to follow in her family's footsteps and become a renowned politician or law woman. Still, her family had made one small allowance that meant she could join the UFA's Coldshore Academy, should they ever invite her. And ask her they did, garnering her all the more scrutiny from her blood.
This pre-calamity Raven was very very tense and serious, as "one small slip", she would often remind herself, "one small slip and she would be nothing. A nobody."
A handful of near-death experiences, both her own and her lover's, during the calamity later and she somehow reappeared in a tavern in Vandre. I can't quite recall what it was I was doing there, perhaps hot on the trail of Windy and his weird void dog... She was drinking her sorrows, in fact until she reunited with Dawn (after she lost her memory and downgraded from the name Adonis) Raven was a HEAVY drinker. I don't think there was a time prior to her reunion with her lover that I didn't find her inebriated.
She was, while she was alive and sober, a veritable font of knowledge about the pre-calamity civilization.
Physical Description
General Physical Condition
Post-calamity, both her arms have had their flesh burnt off and their bones charred black. They're still functional, the cracks pulsing occasionally with the same blue fire that seared them.
Body Features
Post-calamity she gained the power of a Cor, gaining black wings, a feathered tail, and bird talons, as well as black markings along her body and face.
Specialized Equipment
Prior to the calamity, they owned a personalized VITAS Gauntlet in the colour 'Super Expensive Armor Purple' (yes, seriously), and their Com-Pal handle was infantileFury. This item has since been lost post-calamity, alongside her arms.

Personal history
Pre-Calamity:
Growing up in a prestigious family whose lineage has always held a position of political power, it was assumed Raven would continue the family tradition to some degree, but she gained the attention of the United Federation of Aegans, she was sent to the UFA Pilot Academy, Coldshore, on Meylara. Her near-perfect recall and knack for note-keeping are what initially attracted the academy, but upon training and testing her at entry, it was discovered that she was extremely gifted in hand-to-hand and general self-defence. Her family considered her approval and entry to Coldshore a much higher honour than just following tradition and thus allowed it, so long as she continued to gain higher and higher achievements as she worked her way to graduating. She had perfect marks in all her courses, but unfortunately, she did not earn the title of Captain when it came time to be put into a squad- no, that honour went to her rival, Judith Arundel, who was just as perfect as her. This outcome would not be received well by her family, who threatened to disown her over it. Luckily not long after ranks were established, Arundel had disgraced herself in trying to warn the heads of the UFA of a coming calamity, causing her to lose her rank as Captain, which in turn made Raven the captain of the squad instead. Suspiciously, the Everhart family was quick to overlook the 'mistake' for the initial ranking. However, as the graduation drew near, what Arundel had said started to make more and more sense, until that unfateful day arrived when all would be turned to ash. Raven herself wasn't sure whether to consider her and a handful of her squadron's survival a blessing or a curse. Her arms were left mangled trying to save her girlfriend and squadmate Dawn Bellerose, the two of them merging with Cor.Post-Calamity:
She never really was prepared to handle loss. Not like this. In the wake of the calamity, having to see her squadmates be picked off until her squad only numbered three, including herself, was crushing. She didn't show it on the surface, but rather how desperately she acted. For weeks after the dust had settled, she kept trying to establish comms, to reach out to her other squadmates, hoping they had actually survived, to reach out to her superiors for directions, and even to her parents on her own personal messenger when Com-Pal had turned out to be shot. To her, the only two people left were her girlfriend Dawn, and her squadmate Gwenyn... Although Gwenyn had gone AWOL not long after she confirmed with Raven that she was okay. After all of her trying, she finally caves and flies the squadron ship back within Racan space, only for it to fail in the atmosphere around Nivis (present-day Vandre).Accomplishments & Achievements
Accepted into the UFA's Pilot Academy, perfect marks in all her avenues of study within the academy,

Didn't initially gain the rank of Captain when the UFA Pilot Academy assigned her to a squadron, could not save everyone in her squadron when the calamity came, lost her arms, and had to watch her girlfriend die three separate times

Social Aptitude
Very emotionally constipated, like talking to a brick wall- outwardly at least. It's not until later that she lets that wall down gradually, revealing she's just an overly stressed individual. Post-calamity she is a bit bitter but is able to show she cares a lot, quite easily, even if her way of expressing it seems a little harsh and could be mistaken for rudeness. There are rare moments, perhaps when she breaks, where she's able to embrace a soft, gentle, child-like attitude.

Heavy German accent, a somewhat monotone voice. Her speech is very professional, but she has let a few curses out before.
Relationships
History
Originally meant to be a friends-with-benefits sort of thing, until they kept getting asked by their crew and the two caved and admitted they were dating. Deep down the two of them did have some sort of feelings for one another. Raven never shows it but is often protective of Dawn, and Dawn had always admired Raven. Neither of them was brave enough to outright tell each other their feelings, and thus they merely only mustered up the courage to experiment with one another while still trying to maintain the guise of 'just being friends'
The two of them 'split' for a while after the calamity, and lost each other in space... Only to fortuitously find one another again, where they fall in love for real this time. It wasn't a long partnership then... But at least they got to die in one another's arms.
Nicknames & Petnames
Dawn often uses shortened versions of Raven's first and last names, 'Ray' and 'Ev' respectively. Raven refrains from using any sort of nickname or pet name.
Relationship Reasoning
Originally a friends-with-benefits arrangement... After the calamity, and after being separated for a great deal of time, they found one another again and stuck to each other close because the genuinely loved each other and were "all that they had left"
