VITAS Gauntlet
Vitals Information and Armament System, or VITAS, is the name given to a gauntlet handed to members of the UFA, as well as aspirants joining the UFA through their academy. It comes pre-equipped with select modules, and additional modules are given upon choosing a field of study/occupation, or purchased if they are not a restricted type.
I managed to get my hands on one of these, and then Calliope helped to repair it. I'm not sure which of her former crew jury-rigged the servers for Com-Pal to work again, but they're up. I made a list of users and their handles, although these handles will also be on the articles of each person they apply to, as well as a description of their VITAS gauntlet.
Utility
The gauntlet has a variety of modules that can be installed, but the base gauntlet will always come with a vitals monitor, communications device, GPS, and Personalized Weapon Printer (PWP) although the PWP is often disabled for initiates/students unless in situations deemed appropriate (combat grounds, emergency, duty, etc). In addition to this, certain kinds of modules are restricted outright, depending on the wearer's field of speciality. An engineer, for example, can have a module that gives temperature and atmosphere composition readouts- scouts and researchers are allowed this module too, but a librarian would not have any sort of need for it, and thus it would be restricted for them.
Many kinds of modules can be equipped, but some modules vary in storage size, thus limiting what can be equipped with what.
Social Impact
The VITAS Gauntlet has its own built-in communications module that functions via a client called Com-Pal, a client created by the UFA, but later made available to the general public. Com-Pal allows for the messaging of anyone who has the client at any point in time, regardless of whether or not they are online to respond, messages are stored until that person is available to respond. Even if they never log onto that handle again.
All users of Com-Pal can group other users and their handles as they so please, but all UFA members will have their handles noted, any who become part of a squadron have their handles grouped together automatically so as to better communicate. Usage of Com-Pal is encouraged amongst the UFA, and the UFA oftentimes will send announcements through it.

Access & Availability
Only available to members of the UFA, initiates/students in their academy are allowed one but restrictions are put on the gauntlet, limiting its usage.
Some VITAS gauntlets remain post-calamity, in varying states of disrepair, although they are usable if enough parts are salvaged/rebuilt... There do exist intact gauntlets, but most have security measures implemented, awaiting the return of their original wearer.
Complexity
A Cor Fragment is required for the PWP to work, as it is what manifests the wearer's personal weapon.
