Auntie Grimly
Auntie Grimly is a Green Hag found deep in the Black Forest. Hundreds of years old, she is a powerful individual, and slowly rising in the ranks of the Hags. Crafty in the extreme, she is also very cautious, as her hidden den is well protected, and she hates unannounced visits. Auntie Grimly regularly seeks out the living to prey upon, causing many to be cursed.
With the Saxon War in full swing many Germanic tribes have fled to the Black forest to wait out the end of the conflict, and a few Celts & Wood Elves have moved to the edges of the forest. This has left her with new pickings to torment, but means she has to travel further to call in old 'favours' from the fleeing populace. Grimly finds the conflict amusing, and is slowly making more & more bargains with the Germanic tribes, usually with more extreme outcomes, blaming the war for any woes that befall her victims. With the Saxons & Franks also entering the forest she is neutral while trying to manipulate both factions to her own ends. Many of the Wood Elves, and a few of the Celts, know of her, and all are terrified of her. None openly move against her as yet due to certain pacts made between her, and members of both, mainly with protecting her holdings, and getting a few 'test subjects' for her.
One of these test subjects became an ally to her, through no fault of his own. Kieran Byrnes was a young warrior of the local Celts who, after breaking tribal law by murdering a member of the Fey, was handed over to Grimly. She proceeded to curse him with Lycanthropy, and turned him into a Werewolf. He now prowls the deep forest, with a pack of wolves nearby, transforming at the full moon into a large wolf or half wolf, depending on his willpower at the time. This has led to greater amounts of attacks by wolves throughout the forest. Sometimes he brings back victims alive for Grimly, and always defends her patch in the deep forest.
Auntie Grimly lives in a cave below an old ruined wooden hut, where Kieran lives when not out hunting. There is carvings on what remains of the walls & door of a decrepit humanoid marking her territory. The area has changed over the years, with it becoming marshy, where the trees don't grow to full height & girth, and the ground has become similar to a peat bog, with this spreading from the old hut at the centre. It covers a region of about 1.5 square miles, and little life lives here except for the odd primitive creature. The cave is below a trapdoor that is magically attuned to Kieran, who knows when it's opened by anyone but Grimly, but he is not allowed down himself.
