Harold lives in a bomb shelter, under ground in Plouto. He’s a middle aged man and a pod brother of Hieronymous Barker, as well as the many teenage aged clones serving in the Coalition Military Intelligence, and he claims to be one of them.
Harold also claims to have been stationed on planet Earth, in the northern part of the nation known as Sweden from 2942 to 2945, to observe and find out if the Earth humans were ready to learn that there’s humans spread through the rest of the galaxy. During that time he had a local boyfriend, developed a taste for a local food called Surströmming which is fermented Baltic Herring. According to Harold, he and his boyfriend feasted on this smelly "delicacy" while watching Sweden win the Eurovision Song Contest in Brighton, UK, in 2944, with a song called Waterloo, performed by a quartet known as ABBA. By the Earth calendar the year was 1974.
There is a discrepancy in Harold’s story. While it’s true that a majority of his pod brothers that exist now are serving as intelligence officers, the cloning program that created them was initiated in 2950. Before that the only pod brothers of his served on the civilian spaceship Procrustes. The most likely hypothesis is that Harold was a crewman on Procrustes, which hid from the galactic authorities in Texas in the summer of 2939, (1969 by Earth calendar,) and got left behind when the ship left. In order to avoid the draft for the war in Vietnam, Harold is believed to have fled to Canada and eventually ended up in Kiruna, Sweden.
