Cloning Machine Classic
The original design, used on both the first models made at the Clear Corporation and the design of the older unit aboard the spaceship Procrustes that the first model was reverse engineered from. For the longest time it was the most common model, the one that you’d see in the basements, or panic rooms, of rich and influential people. It’s only recently that Dioscuri Tech started making multiple pod cloning machines to be installed aboard the ships of the Fleet that those military units have come to outnumber the Classic Pod.
The Classic Cloning Machine consist of ha horizontal tube, which is where the clone is made, That tube is known as the Pod. It’s like a narrow bed encased in a metal cover, just large enough for an adult human to lie his, or her, back. There’s a very thin mattress and headrest, inside. The Pod is mounted on an ninety centimeters high stand. At the head of the pod, raised above it, is a vertical tank, not quite cylindrical, which contains most of the circuitry, and also where the DNA templates are stored, as well as where the Core Dump unit sits, that downloads the memories into the new body from that of the previous one, unless the clone is a blank.
