Carnath Roadhouse
The Carnath Roadhouse is a way station and resting area on located on the High Road on the eastern edge of the Mere of Dead Men.
Purpose / Function
The roadhouse sits roughly halfway between Waterdeep and Neverwinter and seeks to cater towards travelers on the High Road by offering them respite, food, and a place to sleep safely for the night.
History
During the Great Dragon War, the Carnath Roadhouse served as way point in the Cult of the Dragon's operation to smuggle gold and treasure from across the Sword Coast. Cultists would hide their treasure in caravans making their way to Neverwinter, offload the contraband in the roadhouse, and have it taken away by cult aligned members of the Scaly Death Tribe to Castle Naerytar, where it would be teleported to the Well of Dragons. All of this way done via the watchful eye of the roadhouse's owner, Bog Luck.
In Tarsakh of 1492, the Breadwinners and agent Viné Seraph of Force Grey discovered and ended the Cult of the Dragon smuggling operation following their attack on Castle Naerytar.
Following the Great Dragon War, Bog Luck remains in charge of the roadhouse, having sworn that their involvement with the Cult of the Dragon was only for the money.
