The Honourable Baroness Reija ta Hainin
Reija is the current Marshal of the Border Rangers, the highest ranked military official in Kaleina.
She comes from the Hain family, the most prominent noble household in Port Hope since the establishment of the city during the exodus. Though she was born in a grand house on the upper tier of the city, she spent as much time as she could as a child clambering about the beams and rafters of the lower levels.
Described positively as 'brave' and by detractors as 'reckless', Reija hasn't changed much from the child who couldn't be pinned down. She joined the Border Rangers directly after the Military Academy and worked her way up from a scout. At the time of the Kulo Incident, in which in a monster from the Forest managed to get to an island and caused several deaths, she was a Vice-Marshal in charge of the North Branches. The previous Marshal stepped down after the incident, Reija was promoted to replace him.
She is generally well-regarded as Marshal. Outside of her job, she is loud, reckless, prone to joking, and blunt. When it comes to making decisions that affect the lives of anyone but herself, her attitude switches entirely to reveal a clever, firm, and compassionate leader.
She currently lives in Fiana with her husband and five dogs.
