Valsgard
The Allfather’s Astral Dominion
Valsgard is the legendary mead hall where valorous souls go to feast and be merry after death. The air is thick with the savory scent of roasting meat and the heady aroma of mulled wine, and its hallowed walls are awash with the soothing glow of countless candles. Perched in the rafters above, a multitude of the Allfather’s ravens watch over the festivities, with only the occasional soft caw as a reminder of their presence. Despite the bitter blizzard outside its walls, the hall swells with warmth and joyful activity, as the heroic dead laugh and wrestle with reckless abandon.
Near a roaring bonfire at the center of the hall, Grimnir presides over the celebration, beaming with a proud reverence for the mortals in his care. It is his steadfast presence that inspires their poems and songs, and it is his divine wisdom that frees their souls from the doubts and worries of their former lives. With enough mead to last until the end of time, the fallen will always have a place in the magnificent halls of Valsgard, where they can revel in their victories and bask in the glory of their immortal legacy.
