The Pale Maiden’s Astral Dominion
Noctis is a realm veiled in perpetual twilight, its vast chaparral wrapped in the shadowy embrace of a dusk without end. Bathed in an ever-shifting silver light, the land transforms with each passing hour as the Moon waxes and wanes between its phases, from light to darkness to light once again. Above, an impossibly large castle of pure white stone floats weightlessly in the sky. Within its walls resides the goddess Syrena, an enigmatic and graceful being who has been the source of all moonlight since the beginning of time. To enter this celestial palace, one must simply step across the shimmering moonbeams that cascade down into the realm below, and finish their journey before the lunar phases can change anew.
The Pale Maiden uses this crepuscular realm to stage frenzied hunts with the souls of her loyal lycanthropic followers, chasing after enormous white-furred beasts in an endless chase that might resemble a dance through an outsider’s eyes. However, these mysterious moonlit hunts serve a deeper purpose beyond mere amusement: they are a call to her twin sister Syllara, the Blind Huntress, who presides over the Sun. Syrena hopes that through these unusual displays, she can attract the attention of her sibling and reunite the divine forces of light and darkness. Perhaps here in Noctis, where only the night holds sway, the schemes of this cunning trickster will one day tip the scales of power in the Multiverse.
