The Order of the Keepers
The Order of the Keepers is a clandestine group of powerful mages and guardians, shrouded in mystery and born out of necessity during the darkest times in the history of Sorus. Their story is intricately linked with the never-ending Cosmic War, a dispute over the potent force known as The Spark.
Formation of the Order
The Age of Chaos was a period of time followed directly after Bhaal claimed The Spark, ascended to Godhood and destroyed the Continent of West Sorus. For over a thousand years, Bhaal reigned over East Sorus with an overwhelming army of demons that plunged Sorus into an age of darkness. In response to Bhaal's tyranny, Tyrdelius Chronolos Asquit the Second, previous leader of The Feywild, founded the Order of the Keepers. In secret, Tyrdelius recruited eight powerful mages from each Realm of Sorus to combat the God of Murder and his monstrous army.Era of Peace
After years of gathering artifacts and knowledge, the Order, aided by the mad mage Mordenkainen, launched a surprise attack against Bhaal, banishing him and initiating a drastic plan to save what remained of Sorus. Utilizing the Allcaster, the Keepers shifted East Sorus to The Elemental Plane of Water and cast a modify memory spell on all its inhabitants, erasing knowledge of The Spark, the Cosmic War, and the Order itself to foster an era of peace.The New Order of the Keepers
Coincidentally, a group of adventurers, marked by Bhaal and seeking aid, named themselves the "New" Order of the Keepers, attracting the attention of the original members and setting off a chain of events that eventually led to the dissolution of the old Order. The new group, now known as heroes across Sorus, have inadvertently become the spiritual successors to the original Order, embodying the spirit of guardianship and bravery in facing the remnants of the old threats.
