Spring Court

From the first stirrings of life beneath the blanket of snow, reaching toward the first light of the sun; Spring is the Dawn Court, formed with the first glimmers of light, the quickening of the earth and the flush of joy. For most when they think of Spring they consider the rush of energy, reckless and wild, yet there are also long moments of slow unfurling, the wonder of new life created and nurtured into all it's glory, from flora, to fauna, to the people themselves. Growth is a sacred process among the Spring Court, and the quickening nature of the magic of the Court enables those sworn to the Court to create life on a scale surpassing all others. This extends also to healing, with healers revered and cared for by others to enable them to hone their craft and practice it with those in need. Any fae, regardless of Court affiliation is welcomed to the Healing Grotto should they be in need of healing, emotional or physical. Often there is at least one Dream Weaver in presence from the Winter Court to help tend to immediate needs and arrange plans should someone need mental healing as well.   Spring is a place of mirth and laughter, most of those bound to it jovial in nature and quick to offer assistance and form bonds beyond their own court and races. There is an openness that seems to run through the court as a part of their culture, an inquisitive nature that is certain the world can always be fixed, always be helped. No problem is too great, Spring born are often known for their optimist and unflagging belief in what they believe in. At times this means they seem light hearted, more akin to the heady passions of summer, yet they hold within them deeply rooted faith that is nearly unshakable, as stubborn as any Winter fae. Slow to anger, once the fury of the earth is roused it can be implacable, and to truly break the forgiving nature of the Spring touched often means to be forever an enemy. They are often the peacekeepers among the other Courts, with particularly their healers renown for being impartial when needed.   The want to see the best in the world, to build things for the future and celebrate frequently means Spring attracts many creators; painters, dancers, poets, musicians, actors and more, with it's lush landscape offering untold possibilities. Those pulled to the tending of animals also often chose Spring, learning how to handle various beasts and learning the languages of the other beings in the realms. The Spring Realm is filled with countless idyllic villages tucked away in the Wildwood, a massive forest that spans for thousands of leagues, yet there are also several bustling cities, along rivers, high in mountains, with stunning vistas that are said to repair the heart when it is empty of the spark of life.

Etiquette in Spring

Spring etiquette is a strange thing to most outsiders, for it appears highly informal to others. Titles are largely only used by those who are not within the inner circle of the Queen, or to call specific attention to something. While formal Court is held regularly, and the gowns and splendor of Spring Beauty is regal enough to put Versailles at its height to shame, when not in formal duties the higher placed Spring folk tend to be in gardens, dancing, laughing or otherwise down to earth.   Spring’s sensuality is often present, from sheer garments to easy flirting, it is thought ill mannered to ignore someone who has obviously put work into being appealing. While not inherently leading to anything appreciative looks and comments are expected, and easily given with no expectation of more, which has confused non Springborn in the past.

Meeting the Queen:

Upon meeting the queen, typically joyful words, true from the heart are given. Often this is done with an eager curtsy or bow, but it is not expected unless she receives one in the throne room.

Addressing the Queen:

Often she is simply called, ‘my Lady’, or ‘your Grace’, others might use Lady of Blessing, Bringer of Joy, the Dawn Queen, Spring Queen, etc, but Darina typically attempts to simply have my Lady or her name used when among her own folk.

Keeper of the Meadows of Blessing:

The Keeper typically refers to the Queen as Dawn’s Light, if formal in any measure and at least for the ritual.

Thorns:

Her guards refer to her as the Blossom, that they protect, or my Queen.
