The Cobalt Riders

The Cobalt Riders is a drug cartel run by seven independent drug lords from Chatibos. Their origins can be traced back to the pre-Web era of Chatibos, wherein four drug smuggling and selling organisations banded together to control the supply of the planet's illegal drug trade. This collusion increased each organisation's profits exponentially and they completely dominated the field for decades, running all other competitors out of this illegal business. However, when The Web opened Chatibos to a wider market other Chatibosans took this as an opportunity to become the new drug lords of the galaxy. They quickly began researching and experimenting with how different substances would affect different alien species, and upon discovering what these species found addictive they started smuggling it into these Worlds.
Riders engage in the production, smuggling, trafficking, and selling of various illegal substances all throughout the Pontision System. However, due to the illegal nature of their business they also are found carrying out assassinations, kidnappings, thefts and extortions, and operating protection rackets, though these actions are mostly carried out by the cartel's hitmen. Within their hierarchy, the Cobalt Riders also have falcons (scouts for the cartel), smugglers, distributors, lieutenants (those that are second in command), and of course the drug lords. No one knows the identity of the drug lords except for those who work under them; rather, they are known by distinct callsigns. They are:

• Pitch - Leader of one of the original four organisations, and is widely considered the leader of the cartel due to their callsign being attached to the majority of the cartel's high priority plans.
• Scarecrow - Leader of one of the original four organisations, they are known for growing the farms used to manufacture illicit substances to an unprecedented size.
• Firefly - Leader of one of the original four organisations, Firefly owns the largest number of spaceships within the cartel.
• Badger - Leader of one of the original four organisations, they excel in diverting legal authorities away from the activities of the cartel
• Heretic - Leader of one of the new organisations to join the cartel, they predominantly supplies drugs to Otions and Donerthians.
• Cougar - Leader of one of the new organisations to join the cartel, Cougar predominantly supplies drugs to Teleans and Yilvykians.
• The Hangman - Leader of one of the new organisations to join the cartel, The Hangman predominantly supplies drugs to Mundians, Auctori, and Nurnites.
