IPS-N
Instigation Prevention Soldiers of Nero (IPS-N) is the primary defence and weaponry manufacturer from Malum Auctori. IPS-N primarily operates out of Industria, however they have factories and warehouses all across the planet. They were founded during the War Against Evil to assist the Auctori in combating the Malum. After the Malum had begun terraforming the planet and the fallen started turning into the Equites, the Auctori were inspired to design walking, mechanised vehicles for their soldiers. Thanks to IPS-N's efforts the Auctori were able to win the war and defeat the Malum. After the war, the mechs transitioned into tools of law enforcement and were renamed the Copper Guard.
Achievements
IPS-N mechs (also referred to as SOLDIERS) were designed to evoke imagery surrounding the Equites, or Knights, that fallen soldiers had been turning into during the War Against Evil. This was done not only to honour the fallen, but to strike a blow at enemy morale by reminding them of the horrors that they had brought to the lands of Malum Auctori. This, along with the sheer strength and firepower of the SOLDIERS, was what the Auctori needed to claim victory over their foes. After centuries of warfare, it was an IPS-N NELSON mech that struck down the final Malum. Once the threat of the Malum was no more, the SOLDIERS were relegated to positions of law enforcement. They were named the Copper Guard, emphasising the durability, resistance, and versatility that could be found in their ranks. Since the incorporation of mechs into law enforcement, Malum Auctori has successfully sustained a rate of zero violent crimes being committed by Auctori each year. These days, IPS-N mechs are only granted to 15% of those who engage in law keeping efforts, though they are evidently still present enough to deter would-be criminal activity.Use of AI
Overall, IPS-N uses and implements Artificial Intelligence the least out of any mech manufacturer, second only to General Massive Systems' use of AI. In fact, they collaborated with GMS to create the UNCLE-Class Comp/Con unit. This unit pairs GMS' COMP/CON and smart weapon technology to give the weapons affixed to mech weapon mounts the ability to target enemies without the oversight of a pilot. Thanks to the utilisation of COMP/CON systems this unit does not malfunction like other AIs, but this also has made the aim of the weaponry less reliable than it otherwise would be. While the UNCLE-Class Comp/Con unit is a highly reliable AI unit, the SEKHMET Protocol exists on the other end of the spectrum. When designing most AI that are more advanced than COMP/CON units, manufacturers tend to do their best to reign in the wilder, more unpredictable side of these advanced AI; however, the designers of SEKHMET opted to guide and shape that wildness. When the SEKHMET Protocol is activated, the AI purposefully takes control of the mech it is installed in, attacking everything and everyone around it with an unwavering ferocity. Thankfully, SEKHMET does not see much use from the Auctori's hand, rather it is mostly employed by members of the Wild Araneae Gang.
