The Softskin Syndicate

The Softskin Syndicate is a movement within the Eternal Empire that fights for the rights of the fleshly. They are a populist movement, mostly supported by the newer members of the Empire but also has a core following of pureblood Eternals with them. This popular support makes their clandestine and sometimes anti-imperial methods to keep biological representation in the public sphere hard to crackdown on. The Softskins have members everywhere, a lot of them quite open about their support, but their top members remain hidden. Their main goal is to keep the Eternal Empire from being run by dictator A.I.s. They also oppose the rampant push to mechanize everything, and fight the philosophies that preach a disdain for the flesh. 
They chose the name Softskin as it was a derogatory term that the more mechanically inclined created. They appropriated it to destroy its negative connotations.

Structure

While the hierarchy of the Softskins is highly complex, with the leadership hidden in a myriad of subsidiaries and fake heads. But it is well known that hidden behind all the smoke and mirrors are three powerful figures. They are the Softskin Triumvirate, dubbed Mind, Spirit, and Body.
The Mind during the invasion of the Veritian Leaf in 1102 was an elf named Ignatius of Entsworth. While the Softskin Syndicate has a couple of the defensive fleets backing them, none of the offensive fleets did the same. Ignatius hoped to get the backing of the Fourth Fleet, and stationed himself in Capitol to sow seeds of support. He thought the defeat at Menthal would put some doubt in the fleet's faith in A.I. Unfortunately, the Winter Contingency during the invasion of the Veritian Leaf left him stranded on that continent. A new Mind will take his place eventually, but he joined the Urgian Stallion's of the Eternal diaspora.

Culture

It is a clandestine grassroots organization, so it does most its work in the shadows. They are also a peoples movement, seen almost like vigilantes fighting for the everyman. Some take on this persona, but the majority simply come from conquered lands and saw dark side of cold steel running the show.

Public Agenda

They fight for the rights of the biologics, opposing impositions of mechanic and robotic influences. They are greatly distrustful of artificial intelligence and artificial wills.
