The Bezel and Crown Consortium
The Bezel and Crown Consortium is an engineer's guild in the Eternal Empire's Fourth Fleet. It began as a workers' union for mechanics in the Cogswork Deparment of Division 1's Mothership. The gear turners of the ship did not like their working conditions under Department Head's constant nitpicking, that they stage a walkout which shut down the whole of Division 1 for a day. This did not go well for the budding organization, but it led to a more collective effort from the mechanics of that division. What truly gave them renown is when they purchased with their union fees the Bezel and Crown Timepieces, a watchmaking company back in the fatherland. Everyone thought that the company would go under, but it became a niche market for upper class youth in the hub leaves. These watches built in limited quantity in the Fourth Fleet financed the union becoming a guild. They call themselves a consortium as they merged with other engineer orders as they grew in size. Yet, their financial success has bred an elitist element within the guild, as they only accept truly capable mechanics. This was quite the divergence from their humble beginnings.
Structure
They are a meritocracy when it comes to recruitment, with the recruiters giving potential members challenges they must complete before gaining membership. Members must continue to prove their worth to the guild by either investing their time into research, collecting interesting artifacts or schematics from rivals, and otherwise placing the guilds interest first. This gives them some flak from Fourth Fleet Command, but they have enough renown and independence to shirk these complaints. Leadership though is based in three families, and is passed down within those families. Thus, the consortium is run by the heads of these three families; Hengarth Cogsworth of the Cogsworths gnomes, Squirrel the Fastidious of the Warforged Unit Batch 417, and Lanteefra Duncari of the Duncari sisterhood.
Culture
They are a quite open organization, disliking the red tape of Eternal Empire dogma. They do not mind dabbling in the forbidden as long as it is in the pursuit of knowledge, science, and innovation.
Public Agenda
They seek mechanical innovation to rival the past seasons of Eternals.
Assets
Own a major share of the Bezel & Crown Watch Company, one of the most luxurious and high class watchmaking companies in the Eternal Empire. This provides them with a sizable amount of financial power, which they invest in finding prominent engineers to join their ranks.
