The Evermore Resistance

The Evermore Resistance emerged after the invasion of Evermore by the Dormant in 1036 and the local government was routed. They operated a guerrilla tactics warfare on the Dormant for the following five years from their secret base in an abandoned gith sugar mine to the north east of Evermore. Their efforts were greatly hindered in this time as the Dormant tended to use converted halflings against the resistance, breaking the spirit of the movement. The most they could do was assist in the evacuation of Evermore refugees to the north. This changed when the Dormant control was broken in 1041, and the Evermore Resistance pressed the weakened Dormant occupiers. Once Evermore was freed, the Evermore Resistance became the de facto leadership when the city joined the Sovereign Peoples of Neih, as the high priest of Evermore disappeared and much of the other governmental officials perished in the occupation.   The Evermore Resistance is an offshoot of Summer Worship.

Structure

The structure is fairly ragtag, as the organization emerged out of necessity. It followed a meritocratic hierarchy, which meant most the leadership were members of Summer Worship that had power (such as Summer paladins and clerics).

Culture

While they were fighting an unforgiving and cruel occupying army, this did not break the spirit of the Evermore halflings. They still partied and drank in excess, celebrating into the long hours of the night as per custom of Summer Worship. The loss of cheer was the loss of hope for them.
