You enter the Library, and find your way to a desk close to the entryway. Sitting behind it is a four-armed woman wearing a beige mask revealing only her cat-like yellow eyes. She wears loose-fitting brown and tan clothing as she browses a book in front of her, looking up to meet your eyes as you approach.

Welcome, scholar, to the Library. I bid you take your time and travel wisely, not for the sake of your destination, but instead for the sake of your journey.
This Library contains all known knowledge of this world - and perhaps some unknown. If you wish to browse the library by document title, you may do so through the Index. If you'd like some guidance on what to read first, this place is for you.

Meet the Curator

Hello there! I am Saibra, and you'll see plenty of me around here. I'm the founder and caretaker of the Library - I keep this collection complete and in good condition. I like to write annotations in some of the books, so if you see this handwriting - that's me!

What is the Library?

The Library is a carefully-crafted collections of documents from the world of Dulūn. Each of the documents in this library has been contributed by one of the world's inhabitants, experts knowledgeable on the topics they are writing about. These topics span anywhere from the more basic laws of the world, such as the presence of magic, to hypotheticals and theories on things that no one has ever encountered.
Admittance to the Library is select - only true scholars, like yourself, are permitted entry.

What is Dulūn?

Dulūn is the planet on which the Library resides. It has two moons, Myhe Alari and Myhe Ennore, and one sun. There are five continents: Ansara, Prospera, Valadia, Vehasi, and Kaurenis. The world is primarily ruled by the gods - celestials, devils, demons, and archfey. The nations themselves are not entirely theocracies, but religion plays a major part in the everyday lives of most people. Another major part of the world is its Magic - planar magic, arcane magic, and divine magic all hold the world and its planes together, and provide magical abilities to those born with them or who choose to study them.

Who are the gods?

The world's pantheon is split up into four sub-categories. These categories are: Celestials, devils, demons, and archfey. Each of these types of creatures have immense power over the world around them, in particular involving their domains. Different gods are worshipped regionally, with some more popular than others. While the celestials each have their own widespread church, the demons have small pockets of cults, and the devils' worshippers often operate in secret.

Learn more about the Celestials!

Celestials are the otherworldly beings responsible for the creation and continued upkeep of the world. There are 11 celestials that exist, and 10 of these celestials are known as the Core Deities. The core deities are split into two sub-categories: the creation deities, and the distruction deities. To most, this distinction seems somewhat arbitrary, as the domains of the core deities themselves don't really fit within these categories - however, this has to do not with the domains of the deities, but with their origins. Destruction deities were formed by the death/separation of The Devourer, while the creation deities were formed by the death/separation of Sesais. Myldala, the remaining deity, is in her own category, as a neutral deity of magic.

Learn more about the
Devils!

Devils, residing in the Nine Hells, are being that used to be celestials. Cast down long ago for causing a civil war between the gods, a cataclysmic event known as the God War, the devils remain bitter towards the celestials that cast them out, but are confined to the metaphysical laws of their new home.
Devils have three sub-types: Archdevils, greater devils, and lesser devils. Archdevils are the nine who rule each layer of the Hells, while greater devils are unique devils of higher power. Lesser devils are a newer addition, and are the children of the former angels of the devils and archdevils. They were not around during the God War, but are now the foot-soldiers and everymen of the Nine Hells.

Learn more about the Demons!

Demons are entities that feed off of the energy of other deities. They do not have power of their own, and due to their somewhat vampiric nature, their bodies are in a state of constant decline that is only relieved by feeding off of divine energy. Cults are especially useful and prominent for demons, especially when the cults are hidden within the religions of other deities. This is because energy that would be going to a celestial or a devil is instead hijacked by the members of the demon's cults. As a result of this, worship of a demon is often not a bad deal for the mortals involved - appeasing their cults with gifts gives the demons more loyalty and cult members.

Learn more about the Archfey!

Archfey are the most powerful beings of those that reside in the Feywild. They have power over their home plane, and power within it as well. The feywild is split into two sections, each with their separate court of Archfey: The Seelie Realm and the Unseelie Realm, ruled by the Seelie Court and the Unseelie Court respectively. The Seelie are governed by a set of internal laws that all Seelie follow. The Unseelie, however, are restricted by no such rules, and are able to do as they please within their realm.
The Seelie and Unseelie are at war with one another, as the rulers of each realm, Nellara and Yxjun, despise each other. This war, however, is currently in a stalemate and will likely continue to be for the foreseeable future.

How did Dulūn come to be?

The realms and the world were created over long ago, by a being known as Sesais. Sesais was a Leviathan - a being of incomprehensible power and influence. She formed many of the planes of existence, as well as the world itself, but made some mistakes - in order to prevent her creation from being destroyed, she split herself into five fragments, who would become the creation deities of the core deities, though Sesais was later reformed. These five deities then created the first sapient life on the planet - humans, gnomes, dwarves, halflings, and orcs. These species developed cultures, travelled to one another and formed nations, and Myldala formed the Weave, giving them access to magic. The world prospered for an age, until the devils began their war on the rest of the celestials. The God War wiped out 70% of the world's population, and led to the forming of the continent of Kaurenis. Since then, the world has rebuilt itself, albeit slightly less connected than before.

...Who is Saibra?

I am the custodian and curator of the Library! I maintain this collection, and make decisions on what to keep and what not to include. I try my best to keep the information in the Library up-to-date and accurate with current events, but sometimes it's hard to find accurate first-hand sources... you know how it is. I am your guide to this world and its inhabitants - stay as long as you'd like!

No, but like... who is Saibra? Where did she come from, how does she know so much?

My origins are not important, as it stands. I keep this Library, and its books and knowledge. I maintain it so that it is in good condition, so that you may learn all that you wish to. There is so much information contained in these walls... why do you insist on knowing who I am, of all things?

So is it just a mystery? Will it ever be answered?

I like to keep it that way, yes. I can give you a
hint
I was once a mortal being on this planet - before I ascended.
, if you'd like?
