Ascended Heroes Organization in The Library of Dekash | World Anvil

Ascended Heroes

Structure

This group's title comes from the fact that the four core members ascended to goodhood, first over Loredas, then over all of the world after the Soulburst.   Karyb   Crimson   Trogdor   Carol (joined later)     Members who didn't ascend to goodhood but traveled as a member of the group include:   Roderic Gaspard (who betrayed the group as a member of the Corrupted Invaders)   Michail Bluestone (who died while in a tragic ship accident)   Dacen Nothius (who left the group in self-exile to discover what his true purpose was)   Archimedes who was Dacen's guardian who then went on to travel with Sam   Samuel Eshpard (who was not allowed to ascend with the others due to him having more to do on the mortal plane)

History

The ascended heroes started as a simple group of like minded adventurers. The humans Karyb and Dacen Nothius, the elf Crimson, the dwarf Michail Bluestone, and the halfling Roderic Gaspard. Early in their adventuring they managed to slay a weakened Elder Demon and claim its soul. They believed that Roderic was killed for it, but in reality he faked his own death to escape with the soul and infused it into his blade Demonsbane.   The adventurers met and befriended Samuel Eshpard, training him from age 10. They caught the attention of Adam Faera who used their skills to affect the political climate of the Sapphire Isles, Mickail Bluestone died on the trip there, but soon after arrival they met the mage Trogdor who joined them.   They slew several elder demons, made connections with powerful people including Anna Blackfist (the first female Lord of the Isles), defeated the dragon Myzilith the Sleeping Queen, and ended the career of an Arcadian mob boss. Eventually they found Roderic Gaspard and discovered his plans. With the help of Adam Faera they were able to hunt him down and defeat him.   They continued adventuring and questing over the next five years, with Dacen Nothius leaving to learn from Adam Faera as his apprentice, hoping to understand what drove Roderic to believe the world was doomed. Their final adventure started when they discovered a temple on Mysdia, placed as a challenge by the gods.   To complete the challenges they solved a political crisis on the Sapphire Isles, killed one of the Weavers and their imprisoned elder demon to stop their plans, accidentally released the Dwarven Plague, beat the Paragon of the Morningstar, destroyed the temple of Pseales revealing the treachery of Roderic Gaspard's in the politics of Caeladonia, and were instrumental in creating the Soulforged.   Their adventure culminated in fighting alongside the military of Arcadia and the Sapphire Isles during the Battle of Mysdia. While Samuel Eshpard stayed behind, they entered The Aether and were given the power of the gods to end the corruption on Loredas once and for all. They defeated the core of the corruption in the Aether at the same time that Thaler's Enforcers killed its manifestation in the physical plane. They then ascended fully to the seats of the gods.
