Deridah

Properties

Material Characteristics

Deridah is a red and black goop in its purest form. It is also known as Corruption, named for its affect on all Aether based materials. It is destruction incarnate, the concept of nothing given form. It can be created by removing all of the existing elements from a space, leaving nothing behind. Doing this is next to impossible for someone who doesn't have the ability to control Deridah, as the vacuum created will be filled by surrounding elements as quickly as they can be removed without Deridah actively filling the space.

Physical & Chemical Properties

Deridah destroys what it touches, and something entirely eaten away by it will cease to exist even in the memories of people who knew the victim. Being the "nothing" to oppose the "something" it is especially effective against pure Aether, eats through materials like a slow acid, and is very dangerous to living creatures.

Compounds

When combined with Aether in equal amounts, it creates Erebus. If combined in an unequal amount, they will cancel each other out leaving the remainder of the greater material.

Origin & Source

All Deridah comes from the now incorporeal Balimor. While the destroyer god may have existed before the concept of Gigas, one could suggest it is the Gigas of Deridah, while the Archfiends are its greater elementals and the Draconic-born monsters are its lesser elementals.
