Sunrise Winery

Defenses

The grounds around the manor have a permanent Forbiddance spell cast upon them, thanks to Sahrana. Teleportation or plane shifting directly in/around the area is impossible. In addition, elementals and fiends are unable to enter the spell's bounds without the proper password. If such a creature tries to enter, it will instead take radiant damage.

Additionally, in certain spaces of the grounds, there appears to be...something. If a nice item is given to it, it will exchange the proffered treat for a flower. It's unknown if the spirit is harmful or not, but its activity suggests it protects the graveyard.

History

The lands now known as Sunrise Winery were owned by the Kikuchi family for several elven generations before it came to be in Sora and Yoruko's hands. Supposedly, one of the Kikuchi elves made wine with strawberries and gifted it to the King, who was so fond of the drink he suggested they produce it full time. Afterwards, sometime in the 6400s, the winery itself was built.

In 6754, Sayaka Kikuchi, the deceased Queen of Genos, was buried on the grounds she had loved by her husband, Haruki Hinode. Her grave is marked by a statue of her likeness atop a stone fountain.

During The Castigation of House Hinode, the remaining Kikuchi family was murdered by traitors to the Hinode Crown in the search for Princess Sorahime. They, along with Haruki Hinode, were buried near Sayaka's Fountain. Their lands and titleage were then sold off to the highest bidder. Though the manor and the farmlands were heavily damaged during this time, the graveyard was mysteriously untouched.

In 6872, upon ascending to the throne, Queen Sorahime bought the land back from the inhabitants and had it cleaned out and repaired to its former state. She also had the Forbiddance spell placed upon it.

After her abdication, she moved into the Manor with her then-lover, Yoruko, as well as her two longtime caretakers, Jun and Phillip.

Tourism

While not open to the public, the peasantry who help out at the winery as their taxation speak highly of the gardens of the manor. The most frequently discussed is the vast amount of cosmic kaleidoscopes, a color-shifting flower usually found only in the northern wastes. Because of these flowers, it is said that the grounds smell strongly of cotton candy in addition to the strawberry scent of the fields.
