Having never been trained in combat rings, Dreux has a fairly pudgy composition and is loath to exert himself.

Personal history

Having been the product of a drunken dabble of King Marcus, Dreux was the focus of a blackmailing scheme to keep the king in the pockets of a few powerful lords. As such, Dreux was given a title close to the capital so that a potential pretender would never be too far away from blades loyal to the crown. This type of lifestyle left him a jaded and hedonistic individual who knew he would never be more than a chess piece to others without political power of his own. After the assassination of King Marcus, Dreux was part of a plot to destabilize Blackmire with the aid of the Obsidian Maw cult. This plan was put to rest after Sora, Mika, and Maria recovered the Warpick of High King Tormir, destroyed the ancient army of Grey Renders, and captured Dreux.

This represented a turning point in his life where for the first time he was treated based on his actions rather than his title. After endearing himself to the party it was decided he would be "imprisoned" in Koheno as opposed to being sent to the execution block in Cascade. During his transport to Emeraude he was slain in an assassination attempt on a Elven Princess in the charge of Celia. Maria revivified him, which softened his attitude not only to the party but to life as a whole. During his time in Koheno he served as an advisor and friend of the Regent. After the Dragon Attack, the new Queen Sora requested his assistance at her court where he acted as one of her advisors.

During this time, he was introduced to and fell in love with his fellow advisor, Shiori. He now lives as her lover--as well as her advisor, though she doesn't often require it--in Magister's Ridge.

Education

Was schooled by tutors paid for by the council of lords who used him as leverage. Well-learned in history and art in particular.

Employment

Was thrust into the role of Custodian at an early age and thus became well versed in bookkeeping, logistics, and stewardship. He then used these skills for nefarious aims in trying to supply and use the Obsidian Maw cult. He serves as an advisor after having done so for the Regent of Koheno and former Queen Sorahime.

Mental Trauma

Having been used as a chess piece has left him unable to trust anyone around him and as such he filled the void with drink, women, and gambling.
