Drothmoore Wilds

The Drothmoore Wilds is the largest forest located in the westernmost regions of Meyland.   Bifurcated by the Ripper's Way, the Drothmoore Wilds is one of the most ancient woodlands in Meyland, and the surrounding lands are notorious for being the most dangerous and untameable territory within the Silver Kingdom, and has since been infested with many types of strange and terrible creatures, the most prominent are the lurking tribes of Green-skins. The threat to trade and travel from these tribes, and the Ogres of Daran Uum necessitates regular sweeps by specialist state troops and armored guardsmen, as well as the construction of fortified inns and watchtowers along the wide roadway from the northern crossroads to the Ironsgate Keep.   In the times of the War of Broken Chains  , the Drothmoore Wilds was once the ancient homeland of druidic human tribes who practiced a twisted, brambled form of nature worship. The forest received its name from their leader, Drothmoore, who proclaimed that when he died, he would become one with the forest itself.   Since the times of the Green-skin Wars  , the Silver Kingdom has struggled to hold on to the territories surrounding the forest, which served as the staging ground for Warlord Gargott's invasion of the surrounding lands. Since then, the goblin tribes' knowledge of the forests, and their superior abilities to wage guerilla warfare against intruders and the surrounding landscapes have earned the forest a fearsome reputation. Within the last century, a number of campaigns have been waged against the lands surrounding the Drothmoore wilds to claim them for the Silver Kingdom, but each campaign has led to defeat for the dwarven realms. Today, most would consider any invasion of the Drothmoore Wilds a fool's game, and resources would be better spent defending surrounding settlements from Green-skin attacks.
