A Burgher oversees the day-to-day affairs of the town, assisted by a council of elders and high-ranked craftsmen.
Defences
The town is protected by a wooden palisade, and a small coastal patrol ensures the safety of the surrounding waters.
Industry & Trade
The town boasts a prominent fishery, a salt works, a pickling house and a shipyard as its main industries. Many of the commonfolk who call the city home work in one of these four industries.
Districts
- Salt Alley, where the majority of the saltinghouses and pickling sheds are located. The smells from both industries permeate the entire neighborhood.
- The Planks, a section of shoreline where the shipbuilding workshops have taken root. The sounds of hammering and sawing are constant.
- Copper Row, a hub of boarding houses and shopfronts for visiting merchants. Ledeia's Lodge is also located here.
- Silvershore, so named for the glitter of fish scales along the beaches here, where the fishermen bring in their catch. The stench of raw fish on the drying racks is oppressive. Between sailings, the fishermen can be found here or along the docks, drinking, gambling and telling tall tales.
- A chapel to The Six Saints stands at the centre of town, its bells ringing five times a day.
- Within sight of the town, on a high bluff to the north of Stormrest, a winding path leads to a forgotten, crumbling shrine to Mare, the old god of the sea. From here, one can still make out the sacrificial rock within the waters of Rhyver Bay, where offerings where chained during low tide and drowned in tribute when the tide came in.
