Lake March
Hugging the southern side of Lach Marchel, the city of Lake March is the most populous and prosperous settlement in the Banteave-controlled Highlands. It is the seat of House Antyre, the hub of trade for the neighbouring Baronies, and contains a healthy blend of Banteavan settlers, Antari clanfolk and even the occasional Ostamber merchant, all co-existing in relative harmony amidst the creaking wooden walkways and ice-cold canals, the cramped huts and the sodden taverns.

Approximately 55% Antari, 40% Banteavan and 5% Ostamber, Dunefalli or Norvalled.
Government
A council of Burghers is responsible for the safe management of the city, with each laying claim to a different district. These Burghers are appointed by House Antyre, and rule at their pleasure until relieved of duty.
Defences
While the shore districts have some wooden palisades, the majority of the city does not, relying instead on the ice cold waters to dissuade attackers. In the event of a serious siege, however, many residents would attempt to sail across the lake to flee towards the safety of Echen Crag, or retreat to Castle March.
Industry & Trade
Fishing and hunting are major industries here, and timber felling and carpentry also brings in good coin for the commonfolk willing to put in the labour.
There is also a thriving black market within Lake March, furnishing the traders from Ostamber with luxuries they cannot obtain in their home kingdom. In return, they bring in loads of Rasbign Flake, a potent narcotic that only grows in Ostamber fields.
Infrastructure
Lake March sprawls along the shore of the Lach and into its shallows. Frigid canals have been built to allow rafts and small craft to row along the city streets, while a labyrinthine network of wooden catwalks and docks allow pedestrians access between buildings.
History
Originally a fishing village, the town and its surrounding territories were granted to the newly formed House Antyre after the coronation of Alaric of Bantevar.
