Telling Deck : Kkaxe, The Blackfeather

Inner Deck : Fauna : Transformation of Community

Kkaxe, The Blackfeather, is a singular card from the Fauna Deck. It is sometimes called The Crow, or The Crows.

Variances

Kkaxe represents the transformation of community, and signifies the larger networks in which we interact, influence, and are influenced by. They are most closely associated with the element of Cleft, or Fire. Though not Trued in specific ways as are the Outer Decks, this card is considered by most to represent the influence of the direction of Shelter, which governs concepts around the maintenance of the self.

Significance

The Outward face of a card references when a flipped card is shown to be pictorially upright to the Tole. Outward-facing cards engage the Tole’s relationship and interactions to the external world.    When Outward, The Kkaxe card represents the transformation of the community, as prompted by external pressures. Though the image depicts a flock as they feed on carrion, the image is not necessarily negative: the blackfeather looks to the right, turning towards the future even as it digests the lessons of the past. The death of one way of being sustains some larger interaction of life, even if the connection is not always immediately obvious. As such, The Kkaxe card signifies the acceptance of these cycles and urges the Tole to be fearless in the face of change. When the death of the familiar is no longer feared, the creation of something stronger can arise and take flight.   The Inward face of a card references when a flipped card is shown to be pictorially upside-down to the Tole. Inward cards engage the Tole’s internal growth, struggles, or subconscious.   When Inward, The Kkaxe card represents the transformation of the community, as prompted through internal adjustments, shifts, separations, or pressures, and the ways that this affects the Tole on deep, if sometimes subconscious, levels. Though the upheaval can often seem negative, this in truth creates an opportunity for rebirth for the Tole and their role in things. As the community becomes and sustains something new, the Tole should embrace that change is inevitable. It can be easy during this time to lose or overstep boundaries, so the Tole should be especially conscious of their own needs and emotions, and take this time to conserve energy and pause before action, preparing themselves as life's potential begins to take form.
