Drewan
This simply dressed, young Catfolk gentleman gives off a casual vibe, often carrying a pipe that can likely explain this lackadaisical attitude. Regardless of this, he stands stoically and professionally, despite his thoughts often seemingly being elsewhere. While it is not known amongst the general public, this man also has a rare Arbiter's Mark , that of the Rust Red Starburst, concealed beneath his fingerless gloves.
Drewan was orphaned at birth and handed over to Principal Ennuel Nytfort and The School of Discipline as a ward of the state. Raised there until the age of fifteen, he benefited from a thorough education that covered the breadth of known knowledge and a rigorous physical fitness program. It was here, within the walls of the School’s library, that he discovered the ongoing and open-ended investigation into The First Civilization , The First Civilization's Pantheon , and The Effects of the Dawn .
Thoroughly captivated, the young Drewan rapidly became a bookworm of the highest order, consuming every text on the topic that he could and avidly looking to learn the latest hints and crumbs of knowledge gathered from adventurers. To this end, he has kept up a correspondence with The Adventurers Guild of Krakonia(AGK) and The Krakonia National Library(KNL) for years, compiling his theories and learnings in a never ending series of journals and notebooks. The professors of the School encouraged this self-study insofar as it didn’t interfere with the official curriculum, and later incorporated his passion into a self-study research course as a capstone project for his graduation.
Once emancipated as a legal adult at the age of 15, Drewan immediately packed up his limited belongings and marched directly to the KNL, where he took a job as a librarian’s assistant. The long academic days of the School of Discipline had prepared him well for such a role, where he was by turns responsible for reshelving books, guiding library members in their search for knowledge, auditing the library’s lending records, and assisting the KNL’s Book Collectors in recovering overdue accounts. This proximity to knowledge was invigorating for Drewan, and he redoubled his efforts to dig deeper into Requerm’s mysteries. It was never enough, however, and after a four year career with the KNL he put in the necessary paperwork to join the Adventurer’s Guild.
Drewan is, for the most part, a serious and no-nonsense individual, as befits his upbringing in the School of Discipline. Studious, hardworking, and polite, Drewan is far more comfortable talking with scholars and researchers than he is with people his own age. That being said, he finds anyone who is a subject matter expert to be quite engaging to talk with, so long as the conversation revolves around the exchange of knowledge.
Drewan is currently registered with the AGK as a bard, although his particular set of skills varies pretty significantly from the typical bard. He is more of a scholar than a performer, emphasizing the pursuit of knowledge over that of combat. He can certainly hold his own in a fight, however, and he can still cast some support magic in a pinch. He just probably isn't going to be taking on any quests by himself any time soon, since his expertise lies more in uncovering secrets and applying his vast knowledge of many topics to any potential obstacles that a party may come across.
