The Azure Coast
Geography
Along the eastern shoreline of the Peninsula that the Kingdom of Galus has claimed it's seat of power, the Azure Coast rises from the seas like a stalwart wall for life to thrive upon. These bluffs have been carved away by the Eastern seas that surround the Isle of Estile. The predominant feature of these gorgeous cliff faces is the cerulean stone called Ash Stone, glowing like a second sunrise each morning.
The base of this feature is ringed by scrubby mangrove-like forests, though this microcosm rarely raises more than a few feet above the high tides. It's crown is the emerald canopies of the Ancient Forest, broken only by the two cities of Port De Renard and Willowbrook. This forest has been the linchpin to keep the coastline from eroding away, dotted as it is with numerous caves and cavities.
Ecosystem
The Coastline itself follows the ebb and flow of the tides, the mangrove scrubland home to numerous tidal pools and fishing nurseries. Low tide show these pools to the open air, actively hunted and deeply respected by the Goblins that call the cliffsides their home. The pools could be considered their own ecosystems in their own right, though all this life here owes its vitality to the Ash cliffs themselves.
The Cliffs may follow the command and call of the tides, though the life that thrives here is owed to the nutrient and mineral rich sediments that erode into the Eastern seas, that are hungrily sequestered by the Ancient Forest. Though the stone is dense, it has been eroding against the relentless attack of the seas, rockfalls can be found along the entire coastline where stranger creatures live. Gishell being fond of hunting in the calcium rich ash.
The Coral reefs that edge the continetal shelf just outside the water's edge also owe their vitality to these cliffs. Without the the sedimentary deposits, the corals and the fisheries around them would not be able to gorge themselves on the algal blooms that occur each year in the spring, as the small plant life enjoys the bounty of this stone. All things come back to this ash, all things owe their unique cornucopia to these cerulean walls.
Localized Phenomena
During particularly dry summers, the Cliffs undergo what is sometimes known as the Haze, as the Citizens of Galus call it. The Goblins call it Cliff Weeping. The stones grow a dust on them as the outer surfaces that are not being battered by the seas below, these dust layers pile up and cause small dust avalanches to fall to the waiting waters. Though, the windswept nature of the Coast has also seen massive clouds of this dust be pulled north to fall on the river valley that the City of Glaion calls home. Nested between two rivers, their lakeside origins being made present. The humidity above the lakes cause the dust to fall below, enriching the farmland that surrounds the massive city.
Tourism
The section between Glaion and Willowbrook has been ill-advised in ages past, this is Goblin territory. In recent years, the amount of people exploring this region has been increasing as the Goblin settlement has been established.
