Aset’s Exotic Aviary & Emporium is a pet adoption shop offering creatures with troubled pasts to anyone who can give them a second chance at a fun and fancy-free life. It has a dangerous reputation that draws throngs of thrill-seekers to gawk at the creatures in its front room as Aset, the Seeker or their assistants show off their latest finds.
These "display" creatures are, however, completely mundane, nothing more than run-of-the-mill Beasts embellished with litanies of fictitious criminal activities for the benefit of onlookers. Elementals, Aberrations, Monstrosities, and others are reserved in the back - for those who can truly be trusted with their power. And the villainous deeds of these creatures are no fiction.
Aset's stock changes often since they spend most of their time collecting and containing dangerous creatures from across the planes. Aset, the Seeker is not always present personally, but they're eager to welcome back friends and repeat customers.

Inventory & Wares

Layout

Aset’s Exotic Aviary & Emporium has the following features unless otherwise noted:
Objects. Aset’s Exotic Aviary & Emporium is bright and colourful. Soft round shapes welcome its guests with a childish sense of joy and safety. The desks, tools, and decorations are reminiscent of children's toys designed by master artisans.
Ceilings. The ceiling in the shop's main rooms is made from marble polished to a reflective shine.
Doors. The shop's doorways have circular frames with magical barriers. Each barrier has a unique command word, which only Aset and their simulacra know, requiring Aset or a simulacrum to travel with customers at all times. These command words change daily and are written on a slip of parchment held by Aset and their two simulacra. Gu'Gu can also create portals in these doorways, bypassing the barriers.
Light. The light varies in each room of this shop to suit the inmates' needs.
Walls. The walls in this shop are made from marble panels of ususual shapes and sizes. They fit together at odd angles, giving the shop's walls an abstract, mural-like appearance.

Aset Simulacra

Aset created two simulacra of themself to operate the shop. These simulacra use archmage statistics with the following changes:

They have no spell slots but can cast the prestidigitation cantrip at will

They wield a +1 whip

One Aset simulacrum tends the front desk with all the charm and panache of the original and entertains visitors who’ve come to view the “dangerous creatures” in the front room. Aset calls this simulacrum “Big Top.”
Another simulacrum minds the back with dour efficiency; it has all the knowledge of the original Aset but none of the verve. Aset calls this simulacrum “Backstage.”
