This spectral ball constantly emits the faint sound of distant dogs barking. Once the soul vessel of a lycanthrope lich, its soul-binding power became inverted, allowing all the half-devoured souls within it to take control. Creatures that respect the souls within the ball can benefit from their magic.   This ball has six charges, regaining 1d6 spent charges each dawn. As an action, you can spend the charges to activate one of the following abilities:  
  • You expend 1 to 6 charges to summon the same number of brilliant puppies (mastiffs). The puppies last 1 hour and can be commanded to perform simple tasks.
  • You expend 2 charges and throw the ball at a target within 30 feet, making an attack roll. On a hit, the ball summons a swarm of dogs that deal 8d6 magical slashing damage to the target. One dog returns the ball to you, then all the dogs vanish.
  • You can expend 1 charge to cast alarm, manifesting as a spectral guard dog.
