Spread across the domain, hundreds of billion of people claim, through their ancestry, a link the the Capital world From the old cities of Alderan itself to the luxurious resorts of Assarée, from the fuming industrial cities of Tularis to the think jungle of Frege, on every world answering to the Council's orders, more children of Alderan can be found.
However, Alderans are far from united. Often enough will a House, established in a far away world evolve through the generations, getting more and more distinct from the Capital world. While the so called "Pure Alderans" take pride in their high, slender silhouette, the ruling families of Erodia are squat and muscular due to the high gravity of their world. The poets and artists from Assarée laugh of what they see as a prude attitude from their cousins and the Houses of Frege are so intermingled with the local population that some people even forget the Fregian kings and queens to also be Alderan.
Only in the Alderan Armies do the Even child of a hundred world unite in purpose and discipline, taken from such a young age that their differences can be set aside. Soldiers from their tender youth, they represent the biggest demographic group among Alderans.
Many are those agreeing that, more than an origin or even a common culture, being an Odds Alderan is a social status and a vision of the world. It's knowing that you are part of the elite, and that those below you need your guidance as much as being reminded that any attempt from them to challenge your domination will be crushed with absolute brutality by your brothers and sisters.

The laws of Parity and The Gift are universally applied to every Alderan world.
Every Alderan House benefits directly from the wealth of the word they are established on. In exchange, every second, forth and other Even child will be given up to the Alderanean Armies .
Those two combined convention ensure that every Alderan, no matter how different they are to one another, gets from the Domain what they need to live, and know that the Domain is protected by their brothers and sisters, fighting side by side.
The Collections days, when all Evens from one generation are gathered up represent a yearly occasion for the communities to gather together and renew their bond to the martial side of their culture and the history of their Nation.

An Alderan is never to be called only by his House name if he isn't the head of said House. On the contrary, it is considered polite to call an Alderan only by its first name and title while one calling himself by his first name without mentioning a held title is seen as humble.
Coutumes Funéraires et Mémoriales
The 2nd world of the Alderan System is the traditional burial place of all Alderans. Due to its slow rotation, one of its face is covered in ice, exposed for century to the darkness of space while the other is a burning inferno.
Bodies are to be buried near the Day Line, in the newest of the Ice cities. The ever renewed necropolis will then spend centuries getting ever closer to the light. Some tombs will become pilgrimage places while other will fall out of memory. The most powerful families are proud to maintain corridors, thousand of kilometres long, where one can walk through the century and observe the lives of all of their fallen ancestors. Destroying such treasure is seen as the most obscene of desecrations.

Due to their vast diversity, there is no one universal beauty standard through all variety of Alderan culture. The only real common ground among all offshoot being the importance given to maintain an athletic physical condition, and in making sure one is standing out among the crowd.
Idéaux de Genre
Women and men are considered equal in Alderan society when it comes to right to rule, participation in the military and social recognition. However they are subject in most sub cultures to different expectations when it comes to their social contribution.
Women are expected to exemplify the virtue of Endurance : ensuring that through all trial, they, and by extension Alderan, survive and become stronger. On the contrary, male are expected to live with the ideal of Persistence : attempting, no matter the personal cost, to accomplish what they ought to do, putting their legacy and Alderan glory before their own life.
Persistence and Endurance are seen as equally noble goals to follow and every few decades see a new movement arise, trying to detach those ideals from biological gender, so far to no avail. Though many male will grow up to value a conservative approach to risk taking and the Order of the Blessed Sword gives many examples of relentless women, the stereotype stands. As such, within the military, Equites scouts detachment are often 60 to 70% female while Comitensis demolition team tend to be up to 80% male. On the other hand, due to the primogeniture law applying to select Houses heads, the political scene is almost systematically evenly split.

Marriage is first and foremost a political affair for Alderans, uniting two family through an unbalanced relationship of two people : the Spouse and the Spoused.
Before any wedding can take place, an agreement must be reached on the exact conditions of the engagement. What kind of reception will there be, where will it be held, what kind of financial, military or political engagement will it entail ? Only one aspects remains constant through all marriage. The Spoused and its family shall be in responsible for providing comfort, protection and meaning to the Spouse. The Spouse shall renounce his or her family name, right to perpetuate such name in its progeny, rank in its parity and shall offer its obedience to his or her new partner in life.
Due to the unbalanced status of the Spouses, it is very uncommon for the first odd children to be Spouse as it would mean the possible loss of titles for their family. On the rare occasion that a third or even a first born is married away, the agreement almost systematically includes huge compensation for the family of the Spouse for taking such a risk.
An extreme version of such agreement can happen when the only odd children of a family are married, where the the parents can take an oath not to procreate for a set duration of time, gambling the survival of their house against a huge, often financial, support.
