The Borderlands

The Borderland Realms span both sides of the difficult boundary between Evolutions and Archetypes. These worlds are frequently the site of metaphysical contests between the Powers and of conflict, intrigue and subterfuge. The Stability Council pays close attention to their state in so far as it is able, seeking to defend the Evolutions to prevent them from slipping into Archetypes and to reclaim Archetypes where it can (or at least prevent them from sinking deeper into the confusing Laws of Form that hold deeper within the Discontinuum).
Borderland Evolutions include The Lost Retreat,Magicians' End and Noctaliya. Borderland Archetypes include The Autumn Country, The Consumed World and Mirror Mars. The Green World might once have been a Borderland Archetype but it is now generally thought to be sinking deeper into the domains beyond the borders and is no longer classified as such.
