Geria Ethnicity in The Cradle of Worlds | World Anvil

Geria

locations: west gorel, Demex, Jade Colonies, Anogoul, others The Geria are an ethnic group comprised primarily of dwarves, humans, gnomes, and half elves. They are characterized by their heritage and faith. Originally slaves of the Yith they all slowly acquired a dusky grey skin coloration. They mostly revere the triune of Hovyuw.   While freed almost two thousand years ago, they continue to adhere to traditions founded during the great release. This includes routine religious meals consisting of Orac  meat, flame grilled mushrooms and a fermented mushroom paste known for its pungent and distinct smell. Other traditions are to include an undergarment with stitched scriptures on them. They also have a long tradition of meditation.   Sadly after the great release, they have been looked down upon by many other groups and subsequently enslaved by many other groups. Others believe that the long captivity by the Yith makes them stupid and only good for menial tasks. The tradition of ritual moaning and rocking back and forth is seen as a mental health condition by others and cited as proof they are a damaged people.   Currently, any Geria found in Demex are considered property. While other ethnic groups can gain freedom from the slave markets in Demex, the Geria are never allowed to gain their freedom. Anogoul is a haven for those who can manage to make it there, as is Wakasam. They make up much of the workforce in the Jade Colonies. Those who have survived the bogs that separate Anogoul and Demex, find themselves staunch strategists to help protect Anogoul in The Long Slog

Nice work! I especially like the details about the stitched clothing and the food, it brings them to life in a nice way!
