Double Moon Night Tradition / Ritual in The Cradle of Worlds | World Anvil

Double Moon Night

It is common in many regions around the Henderent Plains and in some areas of the Island Continent of Bellflower to celebrate when a full moon arrives twice in a month. This happens typically a couple times a year. The celebration is mundane compared to major festivals, but important in any case. Being near the end of the month and many jobs pay monthly on the first of a new month it is a day for inexpensive celebration.   The tradition is one of simple fried foods, stews, and moon viewings on terraces or fields. Though other specific rites are in used in certain places.   The dwarves of Wano Dez will often imbibe in rough whisky with fried pork skins laced with heavy pepper. The Elves in The Goldenwood indulge is moon viewing vigils and their priests perform sacred rituals to maintain their forest's magical wards.    The Tarlinjin people use this time for what they call moon bathing, while naked or just in smallclothes. Also in the Land of the Great Tree they also perform vigils and use this time to concentrate moon dew, which is used as a magical agent. Among the Matron Mysterium, The Celestial Lenses are used during this time to recharge some special magical artifacts and the city of Matermar's magical defences.
