The Democratic Conglomerate Of Yevela
The Democratic Conglomerate Of Yevela (DCY) is the governing body over the 15 coastal yevelian cities and a number of other outposts. aside from The Tunvavvaki in The Ringpeaks, it is functionally the only government on the continent and its navy completely controls the waters of the Moonglow straits, giving it a powerful grip on trade in the region.
Structure
The DCY functions primarily around the assembly, the primary legislative body for the state. It holds elections every 10 years to apportion seats to various cities, these seats are occupied by people called Councilors who vote on laws and legislation. There are two types of councilors, city councilors, and national councilors. there are 20 of the former per city who serve in the city assembly where they vote on and propose legislation, there are 16 of the latter -one per city- who serve in the national assembly where they vote on and propose legislation.
The national assembly has long held a secretive and anti-democratic aspect, given those in power rarely get voted out of power and their meetings are not on public record. This fuels public distrust of the government, there are and have been some rumors of widespread rigging of elections all across the country that has very slowly been growing in recent years.
Territories
The DCY theoretically controls most of Yevela, however, it is difficult to control such land when you have no citizens living on it, thus in actuality it only controls the cities and various outposts like The Rainfields above the tree canopy. Aside from this the DCY also controls the isle of Drukela and other assorted islands in the Sea of Drukela and the Moonglow Strait.
Military
The DCY holds little in the way of marines or ground forces -there is little need, as no army could pass through the yevelian jungle- however, they do maintain a truly massive navy that they use to secure their trade networks and to defend their cities. This navy is unquestionably the most feared in the world, consisting of over 500 masted naval vessels, as well as many powerful Zephrin-based Steelhulls -200-400, which are expected to be produced in the next 10 years.
The grey guard yevela's secret police, used in more delicate operations. The grey guard takes its members from yevela's prison population. While in prison serving their sentences prisoners are regularly given doses of Essal, a drug derived from the Elro flower. Over time this drug pacifies prisoners making them less empathetic and less aggressive, also giving them a higher pain tolerance. eventually, after months of doses, they are left cold and nigh emotionless, soon to be conscripted into the guard and serve throughout Yevela. They're used by the DCY on various assignments like keeping peace in times of riot or rebellion, serving in wars, and various secretive other tasks at the behest of the assembly.
Religion
The DCY holds Drelism and Nadallism as state-sanctioned religions, because of the sizable populations of both groups of worshippers. Both are widely accepted, however, drelism is vastly more followed. Because of the noted exclusion of Aakinism by the state, there have long been issues between The Yetrisi and the DCY, this has lead to a number of violent clashes between yetrisi and yevelians, leaving many dead.
Agriculture & Industry
The DCY is the most technologically advanced nation, their only other contender for that title being The HKA. Within the great yevelian tower cities you can find a dozen different towers dedicated solely to manufacturing and production of luxury goods like expensive cigars produced from special plants only grown in yevela and mass-market everyday items like clothes, children's toys, and writing materials.
Infrastructure
The DCY maintains a vast and complex network of roads, outposts, and farms set atop the Ialalon Trees to link their desperate cities and settlements. This great grid exists to subdue the harsh environment of Yevela and transport crops, water, and people between cities to facilitate trade and sustain a population.

Because of this, the DCY is greatly influenced by wealthy merchants and powerful corporations. These influences have led to lax oversight, few regulations, and generally rather inhumane conditions for workers.
