East Side
Ask anyone about Eastside and they'll say it's a pretty good place to live. The neighborhood is filled with quiet residential streets lined with neatly kept bungalows and split levels. There's less crime than Cross End and less controversy than Little Dublin. Life is pretty good here…on the surface.
Look closer, though, and you'll see that the economy is stagnant, the jobs just aren't there anymore, and everyone's stretching their paycheck a little further to make ends meet. It's getting harder and harder to pretend that everything's still fine, but so far the residents of Eastside are keeping up appearances. So far.
A note regarding nomenclature: Eastside is on the north side of the river. This is a matter of some aggravation to certain members of the community who maintain it should be called Northside. Others contend that the name makes perfect sense because it is east of Downtown.
