Central Library
For a City where story and myth lurk just behind one's eyes, there is no surprise that the Central Library is a node of power. Within its walls is one of the greatest collection of books and records in the new world, lovingly protected and guided since the City was first founded. The team of librarians (strangely, all passionate and charming individuals, with gregarious attitudes and uncanny obsession with the Dewey Decimal system) guide all who enter to exactly what they didn't know they needed. They never have any problem requesting funding from the city, and currently have a state of the art building, designed in the classical style, with phenomenal technical amenities. It is most likely due to the authoritative figure known as the Head Librarian.
But for those who have awoken to a Mythos, to those who can see through some of the Mist, the Library is more dangerous than it is helpful. For here, the Mist is weakened, and the Mythoi much more powerful. Abilities heightened, senses expanded, it's very easy for Rifts to harm themselves, harm others, see what they shouldn't see, and lose themselves in the endless tales and legends. Even connecting remotely through digital means can induce this state. Which means that for all its knowledge and power, it is mostly off limits for Rifts, except for the rare dire need.
